My earliest creative memories trace back to when I was around seven years old, watching the ice skaters during the Olympics. I would sit in my room, sketching outfits for the skaters and dreaming of becoming a fashion designer. Though my dream has shifted over time, my passion for creative expression has only grown stronger.

In high school, I took every art class available, eventually finding myself in a graphic design class—the only art class left to take. Little did I know, that class would change the course of my future. Initially, digital art wasn’t something I was particularly fond of, but would soon discover a deep love for it. I spent countless late nights learning Illustrator, Photoshop, and eventually Procreate.

This newfound world of digital art opened up many possibilities, leading me to choose Graphic Design as my major in college. Later, switching to Creative Technology, a field that offered more diverse creative outlets and a more comprehensive art education. This allowed me to continue exploring both digital and physical art methods.

Throughout my career, I have worked for various companies, continually strengthening my artistic abilities and gaining diverse experience. From creating art for advertising materials used by different companies to designing promotional and gag gift items, I continue to evolve as an artist.

In 2020, after graduating college, I created a faceless portrait of myself and my boyfriend, Zack, in our graduation gowns. Little did I know, this single piece of art would set me on the path to starting my small art business. As friends and acquaintances admired my work, word spread, and soon strangers were requesting custom illustrations for themselves or their loved ones.

The popularity of my art grew, leading me to take on a variety of freelance projects, from tattoo designs to illustrations of motorcycles and houses. The positive reactions she received were thrilling, and she realized people genuinely loved her work. Encouraged by this, she started an Instagram account, @KarleyDavisDesign, to share my art with a wider audience. As custom artwork requests continued to pour in, I began to more and more believe in my ability to make a living doing what I love!

With the support of my partner Zack, friends, and family, I have began creating the brand identity for what was originally named "Kat’s Sketchbook Designs," now known as "Karley’s Collection." I changed the name because I felt the original brand identity didn't resonate well enough with the company. I started saving up and eventually began purchasing products and shipping supplies, building my brand and online presence. Today, Karley’s Collection offers various design options on tote bags, stickers, and clothes.

I believe I wouldn’t be where I am at today without the inspiration or support of my parents. My journey into the world of creativity has been deeply influenced by my incredible family.

My father, a true creative who immerses himself in his passions and works hard for everything he has, showed me that with dedication, time, and love, it’s possible to make a living doing what you love. His innovative approaches to projects and the pure joy he expresses upon completing them resonated with me and pushed me to pursue my own creative path. Over the years, he has taught me many forms of creative expression and the importance of learning new skills.

My mother has taught me how to be a strong, driven, and inspirational woman. She has always been a guiding force, encouraging me to pursue my dreams and helping me achieve them. Her kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support has been crucial in building my confidence to create my own brand.

Both my mother and father have instilled in me the importance of hard work, dedication, and following one's passion, no matter the obstacles in the way. They both continue to help guide me in the understanding of owning my own business and how to operate one. For all of this I owe a huge part of who I am and where I am at today to them.
